Because I am in Europe I am still seeing many episodes for the first time; either the BBC didn't show 'em or I missed them.
Today - on Paramount - the Merv Griffin episode: Kramer finds Merv Griffin's old set.
I was laughing extremely happily indeed. Very very happily. That was a very funny episode.
Even though Merv Griffin is unknown over here in Europe I was laughing heartily. When Newman appeared as the sidekick... All very funny.

How I wish I could tune in once a week and see a Seinfeld show I haven't seen before. Used to be fun on Thursday nights at 9 o'clock.....

FWIW, the last "first" episode I saw was the one with the VERY unpleasant shot of Kramer's head on a turkey. Possibly the most creepy moment ever in the show - for me, anyway.
Generally I find my enjoyment of repeats is equal to or greater than the "freshes". I see new threads linking the episodes and it's fun to see the characters develop. I am sure this has been said many many times before in this group, but I have started visiting fairly recently.

Well, there's a difference between seeing a repeat and watching an episode for the 43,871,654,432nd time. When you know the episode so inside out that you can time the lady on the third row of the live studio audience belting out a laugh.
Although funny, 'fresh' is a term that was lost a long, long time ago.

All I meant by fresh was the first time I saw an episode. For some reason, that creepy Kramer-turkey episode was the last one of all of them that I ever saw (as opposed to the bubble boy etc which are rerun ALL the time). That's all I meant. And after somewhere between 5-8 times of the whole thing, I once actually stopped taping it and went to Malcolm etc instead. I found out I HAD to go back and tape Seinfeld or something just didn't feel "right". I guess that's what addiction is.
Actually, I just saw some of the later Malcolms (today it was the "baby sitting" episode where the 3 bros go with 3 semi-hot girls who want to stick it to their boyfriends by making out with the biggest losers in the school). BRILLIANT. The secret house subplot was really great too. And the supermarket guy? He RULES. I hate to say it, but while it does not have the addictive potential, as it is a bit difficult to relate to on many levels, whereas Seinfeld is like everyone's life has been at one time or another, Malcolm might be a much better written and acted show.
