There is a new ad running on TV for "Boston Market".
It has a catch phrase where a woman cheerily says, "Dinner's ready".- -immedietly after this, you hear a man say something like "myahh!!"...it sounds almost like someone is barking the word "yeh". Anyway, it sounds just like Kramer. (I can't think of exactly where from, maybe from when he tastes bad fruit.) I'm not saying it's actually an audio sample of Kramer, but when a Boston Market commercial comes on; listen for that sound after "dinner's ready" and tell me what you think...
It wouldn't surprise me if it was him. I've seen several entertainment TV shows that had small features on it that talked about how celebrities do voice-overs for extra cash- even the hoity-toity "nose in the air" ones. Since Michael Richards has been known to be a bit more down to earth, commercials with just his voice wouldnt be out of line. It's a great way to make a ton of money, but not completely "sell out" so to speak.
Remember Gene Hackman doing "Oppenheimer Funds....the right way to invest"? Some of the more common voice-over actors are Alec Baldwin, Donald Sutherland, James Coburn, Sally Kellerman, and Edward Herrmann. Hardly an evening's worth of TV watching goes by without hearing one of their voices on a commercial.
Okay, if you're saying that could actually be Kramer/Michael Richards; what would be the reason for a quick sound of Kramer without actually announcing it's him? The only thing I could think of; if Seinfeld is the most popular/most watched show of all time, then millions and millions of people would have an association with Kramer/"Kenny's" chicken >Boston Market(?). I say this, because when I watch that Kenny's chicken episode; they make the chicken seem so delicious by the way they exaggerate their love of the chicken. (I would eat it.) So, maybe that "sound bite" of Kramer is a subconcious cue for the Kenny's chicken/the feeling assiociated with it.(?) I would be interested in finding out if that sound from the Boston Market commercial is actually an audio sample from the "Kenny's Roaster episode"/or something similar/re-created.
Maybe this may all seem like a stretch; but is it?
If you (Johhny Dupe), are saying that this could actually BE Kramer; I cannot think of any other reason that Kramer's voice would be used - except maybe some association with Kramer>Seinfeld>Jason Alexander>KFC/chicken/the competition(??)
P.S.> Doesn't Boston Market have "Roasted" chicken like Kenny's did?
So all TV ads should mention what the voice-over has starred in? I think not!
Here in the UK, as in the US, our most famous actors and actresses all do VOs - it's a "nice little earner" for them and fun for us identifying their voices.
No....but the fact that the whole voiceover is about 1 second long; there is probably some marketing reason, that I am trying to figure out. (If this is Kramer at all.)
