Marjorie Gross, She writes the script too?

In the 9/19/96 show there was a tribute to someone who apparently died. Was this real or was it part of the show? Who was this person? My attention was somewhere else at that instant.

I'm quite sure it was real. My first thought after glancing at the photo and name ("Majorie Gross") was a gal by the name of Gross who played on SNL a few years ago. The picture seemed to look like her, but but I'm pretty sure she wasn't billed on SNL as Marjorie. I'm thinking maybe Mary or Mary K. or Mary <some initial>. But that's kind of close; it may have been Marjorie's stage name. The tribute flashed by so quickly, I didn't get a second look. And, being careful to always edit out commercials, I had already stopped the tape, so I can't watch it again.

Anyone know for sure?

Mary Gross is still alive, she is doing Little Debbie commercials.

I remember watching a Howard Stern show on E! television and he had Marjorie and Carol Leifer (is that how you spell it) on the show. She too was a writer on the show. She talked about how she was battling with cancer. --Nat P
