Yet, in the previous season, Alton Benes threatens in The Jacket:
ALTON: Alright, boys. We'll go to that Pakistani restaurant on 46th Street. You're not afraid of a little spice, are you?
Which begs the question. How far apart are these neighborhoods?
well jerry lives on west 81st, and that other place is on 46th....so a decent ways anyway

Plus, the comment in "The Jacket" is made in season 2, while "The Cafe" is in season 3. Perhaps, the restaurant in "The Jacket" had to close just as Babu's did.

Babu's restaurant WAS the only Pakistani restaurant in the neighborhood, at that time. The restaurant that they took Alton Benes to the previous season had to close because he intimidated the staff and fellow patrons so much that the former quit and the latter stopped eating there out of fear of him coming back in the future.

Wrong. In fact, they never went to the Pakistani restaurant in The Jacket. They had no reservations and the waiting line was too long. They went to another restaurant. That's why in The Cafe, Jerry thinks: "Of course I've never had Pakistani food. How bad could it be?"
Ah, now I see, thanks. Also, I realized it may have been the case that the 46th Street restaurant didn't serve truly authentic Pakistani food, but perhaps the Pakistani food familiar to those of Mr. Benes' generation.
