10/10 episode

I missed the season pilot when my wife forgot to tape it and I enjoyed last weaks (sic) episode but was shocked at tonight's bomb. Utterly predictable and really boring.I am a big fan and have a high tolerance for ambiguity but this show just stunk-the computers, the screen door and Jerry's emotions just didn't click. Not any major laugh at all! Just my opinion guys and gals! What made it even worse was the rerun at 11 pm (The episode where Jerry gets a gal's number from the aids walkathon list) was so-so and even that was better than the third show of this season. Let's hope the writers can get it togther (got it together) sooner rather than (too) later.

i thought that tonight's was one of the best i had seen in a long time. and i say this as someone who never thought that the show was getting less funny. i was in a room of about thirty people and they all seemed to think that the episode was funny. i personally thought that the kramer theme of anytown was hilarious. if anything, i thought that the show contained all the elements of vintage, trademark seinfeld. my opinion of course.

You know, I was honestly waiting for George to mention to Frank that Kramer was using the screen door. Frank would then go mental, screaming that Kramer had conned him into giving away his screen door, and then stole it for himself. I was mentally "hearing" the scene as Frank bellowed "That's my screen door! That's my screen door!" as Kramer wailed "You threw it away, man! It's mine fair and square! I'm not giving it back!". Followed by Frank storming to Kramer's apartment and the two of them fighting to the (door's) death over custody of the dang screen. I was almost disappointed there was no screen door confrontation.

I was waiting for something a little different...I was waiting for Kramer's bug zapper to go "BZZZT". Unfortunately it didn't happen.

I dunno. I didn't think it was that funny. Regardless, it certainly wasn't breakthrough in the sense that it was something unprecedented. As far as the rest of the show goes, I thought it did get off to a good start, and I did like Kramer's "Anytown, USA" bit. But then there was some slapstick which came across as a bit too uninspired to me (with the annoying unseen kids down the hall).

Why is it that I generally laugh so much more at the syndicated reruns than at the newer shows? Even if I've seen the reruns before?

I think it's because the writing was a lot better in the past. I mean, how did the 10/9 show end? With that really lame exchange between George and Elaine. I'm sorry, I just didn't think it was that clever or funny. The overall dialogue now doesn't seem as crisp and witty as it used to be - it's beginning to remind me of the vast sea of mediocre, predictable, and surprisingly unfunny comedies that surround Seinfeld. I'll give the new season one more chance next week, but if it reminds me too much of all the TV shows I make a point *not* to watch, I'll just have to stick to the syndicated reruns.

Or maybe I'll just switch to Drew Carey or Ellen.
