i did post an announcement about the awards on 3/1 but i didn't want to spoil the surprise for other seinfeld fans. it was on last night. if you missed it, your best bet is to start looking for people who videotape it. jerry and JLD opened the show and presented an award. jason alexander presented an award as well. unfortunately michael richards was nowhere to be seen, though jason did call him the best guy around when it comes to pure comedy. --- later, sunil

Hey all, I saw the award show last night and it was, at least at times, quite funny. But is it just me or do award shows( and I mean all incl. the oscars, grammy, etc awards), get unbearable sappy. Especially when it comes to "Lifetime Achievement" awards and the like. The feature they showed about Billy Crystal was so sappy and sweet and - oh man I wanted to puke. Don't get me wrong, I like Billy a lot, although "Mr. Saturday Night" was one of the worst movies I have seen in a long time, but this 'celebrating each others greatness and kissing each others butts' that is going on in these award shows makes me sick.

Well, at least three of my favorite comedians got awards (JLD,JS,JA) but why wasn't the loathsome brute (KRAMER) not even nominated??? Go figure.

And how about Joe Pesci's 'very unrehearsed' reaction? Although he definetely deserved the award!!

Let's hope tonight's Seinfeld episode is going to be better than the Awards that honored it...

Well there's at least one reason: there's only one winner and Jason Alexander and Michael Richards are the only two of the four that fall into the same catagory.

I didn't watch the whole show, but amazingly the the two times I got home when it was still on I saw JA and JLD win as soon as I came in the door.

I'm glad JS did so well at the Comedy awards, and I do like George as a character on the show. However I feel that Kramer should have won for best supporting male for the following reason,

The Kramer character could carry his own spin-off show while George could not.

I agree, he should have won, but not because he "could carry his own spin-off show". To say that a supporting character can be a good lead character doesn't merit them the award for the supporting role!

   So that raises the question of why Kramer didn't win the award??
   Is there anyone on tv at the moment, leading or supporting, male or female,
   who is as funny as Kramer???   If you say yes let me know and I will reply
   by quoting the funniest person on tv, KRAMER, by saying

I know that this has been discussed before, but I can't seem to help myself.

I don't think that Kramer could carry his own spin-off! Too much of a good thing can make you sick! He has the best impact when taken in small doses. If I were subjected to an entire half hour of just Kramer, it would get old REAL fast. The other characters on the show help to point out how different and goofy Kramer really is. If it weren't for the others *almost* normal attiudes and reactions, then Kramer's reactions wouldn't be nearly as funny.

What?? Kramer in a spinoff? Who would he play off of then? What makes Kramer hysterical is the fact that he is the "oddball" among the group. [of course this is relative].

Don't make sweeping generalizations about other people's likes or dislikes. Everyone I know who watches Seinfeld names George as their favorite character and feels that Kramer is great in small doses.

So some people like one, some the other. Who cares. They're both great and they both deserved the award.
