The wait out scheme was classic Seinfeld. Everyone knows what the Miss Manners rules are, and the Seinfeld crew try to figure out how close to the edge they can sail without crossing completely over to the dark side. But sinister and unfunny is the best you can come up with.
As for Elaine - well, she's had different looks, and I don't like them all (especially not the new flat hair look) but that's no reason to cite for a show to be bad. Sheesh.
