I love these behind-the-scenes insider tidbits. That's one of the reasons I enjoy the DVD format so much for movies--not only do you get excellent sound and video, but you can turn on the director's commentary and hear all sorts of interesting stories. I especially enjoy the larger roundtable-style commentaries (like those for Kevin Smith's movies) which are often as funny as the movie itself.
If Seinfeld ever is released on DVD, I'd hope they could get Jerry, Larry David, and all the others to do commentary tracks. And with so many people involved in the show over the years, you'd think they'd have a lot of people to choose from: for each episode, you could have one of the four main stars, a supporting actor, one of the writers, perhaps the director, someone involved in production, etc.
I wouldn't put it past Larry David to have used that name when writing the Seinfeld TV series. It would be interesting to know, if the guy is a friend or foe of Larry David and others who were involved with writing for Seinfeld.

He's been an acquaintance of Jerry's and Larry David's for a long time, and he's one of MANY people whose names wound up on the show---some of them network execs, some of them people on the show's staff, some their personal off-the-air friends. (We all know how the real life Kenny Kramer and Mike Costanza each gave their last names to the show cast of characters...although only Kramer gave his persona to the show as well, while the Costanza character was an exaggeration of Larry David.)

Hi Bob, how ya been? Actually the Costanza character was a combination of the two. Most of what you see George doing from day to day is David, while much of George's backstory came straight from Jerry's experiences with Mike Costanza. Mike tried a toupee, Mike was called "Can't stand ya" by Mr. Bevilacqua (the real name of Mike and Jerry's gym teacher.) Mike had the 'thing' about parking, etc. When Larry David said George was culled entirely from his own life, he was flat out lying.
