Did anyone else notice the giant glasses that Jerry's father wore. Was that a joke thing(sight gag ) or does the actor need those glasses.

Well, I think the joke has to do with the idea that our parents, somewhere after they reached the age of 50 or so, develop this kind of fashion incoherence. I'm talking about the shorts combined with black socks pulled up to the ankles with white loafers. Or sometimes you see those women with their panty hose that reach up just under the knees---but they wear a short length dress! Or those glasses Jerry's dad was wearing. Their fashion sense is completely out the window. You know how it is, you get married, you get older......
