In the episode "The Dinner Party" Jerry & Elaine go into a bakery to buy chocolate babka for the party. While they're waiting Jerry buys a black & white cookie and has a conversation with Elaine. As the camera shot goes back and forth between Jerry & Elaine the black and white sides of the cookie kept getting switched. The chocolate part was on the left then it was on the right then back on the left. It's like the cookie gets rotated 180 degrees in Jerry's hand but it only has a single bite taken out of the cookie. Does anyone know if they did this on purpose or was this just a prop mistake or an editing mistake. They would have had to film this scene twice which I'm sure they do all the time. The editing was flawless and the dialouge was seamless. I think they did it on purpose. After all....Jerry kept saying, "Look to the cookie".

Yes, they do film each scene at least twice. The first two times are in front of a studio audience. After the audience leaves, they reshoot each scene that they are still unsatisfied with. My guess is that after that scene was shot once, they had Jerry rotate the cookie, 180 degrees, so that it would cover his bite. They probably picked the best parts from each shooting, and missed the flaw. I have noticed countless editing flaws like this throughout the shows run, so I attribute it to sloppyness.
What I mean is the bite is always there regardless. There were several cookies in the bakery case. I'm sure they gave him a new one and he just took a new bite out of that one but with the colors reversed.
I noticed that too, and wondered if anyone else did. I think they did it on purpose, you know, to throw everyone off and make people go, "HEY!" That's what the show is all about!
Those half-chocolate, half-vanilla cookies are called half-moons up here in the semicivilized wilds of upstate New York.

Here in NYC (where it's _fully_ civilized <g>) we call them black-and-white's.
"Half-moon" is an interesting name. I've heard of the moon. It's one of those nature things you upstate folks see a lot of, right? Isn't it that light in the night sky that looks like a street lamp? We don't see it much around here; the buildings usually get in the way.

Don't think I've heard of black-and-white's either. But, do they still have those Friehoffer's chocolate chip cookies up there? I really miss those; never tasted anything else so wonderful.
