Question about "Jerry buys his father a Cadillac".

In the ep where Jerry buys his father a Cadillac, and we all know how that leads to his father's impeachment as President of the Tenents Group (or something to that effect). . . In the closing scene Jerry, his father, and mother all walk out to their car, through the crowd of onlooking tenents. Then they drive off. Is this a reference to some scene in a movie? There was laughter at some points, possibly when his father saluted. Leading me to suspect further this was an inside joke, or more appropriatly, a reference to something known. If anyone knows, please let me know. By the way, I loved the Contest ep, I was laughing my butt off.

I have not seen this particular movie, but I assume the scene is a "quote parody" of the final scene in the Oliver Stone movie "Nixon." It parallels Nixon's real-life departure from the White House, with the White House servants forming an "honor guard" as Nixon and his family walked slowly towards the waiting limo. When Nixon reached the limo, he turned to the assembled servants, some of whom were sobbing, and threw up his arms in his famous "V for Victory" salute. The "Seinfeld" scene was exactly the same, although, for some reason, Morty didn't form the "Vs" with his fingers.

I think it's a reference to Richard Nixon, when he resigned before impeachment. When he left Washington, he walked to AirForce(?) one very slowly, but before he got in, he flashed that big triumphant grin with the two fingered salute. Maybe that's it... jane.
