In the 4th episode of CYE, shown this week, when Larry is watching the weather channel there is a quick image of a newscaster and it looked like the name in the graphic was "Peter Steinfeld". Did anyone else notice that?

Didn't notice it. I did notice though that the episode was very weak. I think I laughed less on this Ep than any so far. I was loving the continued storyline style and particularly the "10th Anniversary present" storyline and the musical stuff and neither of them were in it all of a sudden.

I felt the same. The situations Larry has created this year seem forced and do not precipitate innocently from his behaviour as they did in the past years. His character seems more mean and silly than before.
For example I could not accept the fact that he would want to look after the dog. Usually he should be objecting to it and have the dog forced on him some way THEN be upset when they changed their mind. I think THAT would have been funnier.

True - and the photo in the pocket was a bit weird. I did like him having a go at the weatherman on the golf course though.I thought the series started well though, Eps 1 & 2 and I liked the format, Ben Stiller, the blind guy and his "model", Mel Brooks etc. But 3 and 4 were fairly poor.
I have HBO and I quit watching CYE. It is just the same irrational,annoying behavior by Larry week after week.
And then there was one ..... Jerry himself has not yet struck out on a TV series by himself.

Actually, now that I think of it CYE is not on TV either. In any event, I would bet money this will be the last season for it.

Well... Seinfeld reruns for starters...! IMO CYE has always been deeply flawed by bad acting and a smug, self-congratulatory air that probably comes from improv considered well done.

It only won the Golden Globe last year for Best Comedy Series, was nominated for 10 Emmys (won for directing), is a huge hit for HBO, is loved by the critics, and HBO has said they will keep it on the air for as long as Larry David is interested in making more.
Just like Julia, Jason's and Michael Richard's shows. Great analogy, osmium!

The fact is, that by any possible definition, "CYE" is a hit show, regardless of whether or not you like it. The shows you're comparing it too, by most qualifications,were outright bombs.
And what would make you question HBO's position that they'll keep the show on as long as Larry David wants to do it? The show is a bonafide hit, wins Emmys and Golden Globes, has created countless new HBO subscribers, and is now being imitated all over the place? The recent DVD release of the first Season was one of the biggest selling releases of any full season TV series.
You want predictions for the future? Here you go: More Golden Globe awards, more Emmy awards, and a fifth season.

Did anyone else notice the other Seinfeld references in this CYE episode? Larry's dentist had an Uncle Leo, and Larry's suede jacket was ruined by a name tag (as Jerry's was ruined by the rain).
