I watched Seinfeld on NBC tonight for the first time in a long time. I had gotten to the point where I would only watch the syndicated reruns because the new episodes from this season were so bad. Tonight's was no exception. It was just plain awful. Elaine was a total idiot. Her clothes were stupid, her hair was stupid, and she was her normal ditzy self (of course in older episodes she acctually has some sense). Jerry's actnig once again seemed forced and unnatural. Kramer acting like a dog was the topper. This show has become a joke. Every new episode is total lunacy. Seinfeld used to have a reputation as being a sitcom that was realistic (i.e. the characters and situations felt real), but now the plots in each episode are plots that could ONLY happen in TV land. I'll continue to watch Seinfeld...at 10:00pm on channel 5 Mondays through Saturdays.

While I wouldnt call it great, the scene where George details his lifes tragedies was hilarious.
And although Kramer as a dog was a bit much for me, The dog impersonation done by Richards was quite good.

Don't remember the exact quote but it was something like..."Oh, did I mention my fiance died licking the envelopes that I bought for our invitations because they were cheaper?" Obviously not a direct quote, but hilarious nonetheless. Like most in the NG, I prefer the Seinfelds from 4-5 years ago, but I still appreciate the show to be one of the three or four best comedies on today. I, for one, like Thursday's episode.
I have to say this episode would have been a classic if it weren't for the stupid Kramer/dog part. That was one of the stupidest segments I have ever seen. I wouldn't even expect to see that on a show on UPN, WB, FOX or an NBC Saturday morning show.
The best part had to be when George was recounting all of his failures. Elaine's character was a little too much but still funny, especially when she was waving the knife and when the bird crashed into her head.
What, are you crazy? That was by far the best part. Kramer is usually at his best when sitcom becomes slapstick.
C'mon, when he was at the vet's office? The doc asks if it hurts when he drinks, Kramer's response was PRICELESS! Orange juice, er, um, dog food juice.
I laughed so hard I almost bled internally!
Oh, you missed to mention the best. vet: has be been drinking from the toilet lately? Kramer: (baffled) oh! thats disgusting
The episode _did_ provide a lot of Kramer moments that are worth remembering (like when Jerry tries to get him the dog medicine). But I do agree that it tended to become a bit stretched (like Kramer trying to guide the cops, Jerry yelling "You are BAD").

The dog thing was dumb, but the ending made it all worth it. "Trouble? Trouble at the Old Mill? Good boy, lead the way." Priceless!
In my opinion, the Kramer ending justified its stupidity. But, as they say, we are all entitled to our own opinion and that's why Seinfeld is still #1.

I have cringed through this season as well, but I was pleasantly surprised by this episode. The montage of George as martyr was hilarious--not only funny, but a meaninggul retrospective on the character.
True, this episode would have no place in the Seinfeld of yesteryear, but as far as this season goes, once you accept the fact that the show will be absurd and unreal, this is one of the better ones. Kramer acting like a dog was one of the few unreal occurrences this season that I really liked. The ending was priceless.
ok i know it was crass but i laughed at Kramer and the coughing dog. Especially when they both went to the vet. I also fell over when he stuffed the hot dog at the begiining

I think this epsiode was one of the best this season. This was a repeat, though. Anyway, the part where George talks about his life tradgeties and mentions ...."and there was significant shrinkage..." , was hysterical. I love when they refer to past idiocies from the good old days, like Art Vandelay.

I love this episode, Kramer at the vet was awesome, "haver you been drinking from the toilet"? I also love when George goes"And by the way, my fiance died from licking...." " Thank you very much" . I thought it was a silly episode but funny.
