Just wondering how popular Jerry was in August 1987?
That's when (I think) he was doing a gig at Yuk Yuk's in Niagara Falls, Ontario. What made it memorable for me, was that I saw him leaving his hotel (then called the Sheraton Brock) at about 5:30 am, on his way, alone, to the airport presumably. (What was I doing so early? Well, I was a security guard for the hotel, just snooping around as per my job description). I felt sorry for him, because he looked upset - did he just wake up? did he bomb on stage the night before? did he have a valid passport? etc? He must have been slightly famous then, for I considered my sighting to be a true Brush With Greatness, and I'm sure I had watched him on Letterman and Carson.
Oh, and did I mention the time I saw Les Nessman at Universal Studios...
