I thought George was the best actor in the show. Sometimes, Seinfeld couldnt keep himself from smiling in funny bits.

I've always felt that, by far, Jason Alexander was the most talented of the cast. I fear that he has type-cast himself now. I mean, really, can you see Jason Alexander in any other role now and not say, "Hey, its George!" ?

Michael Richards would be second in my mind, mainly because he can rely on the physical part of the humour along with his acting ability.

Julia would be third, and while I think he's a comical genius, Jerry would be a distant fourth as far as acting ability goes.

Oh, absolutely, and I think Jerry would be the first one to agree with you. I saw an interview with the Seinfeld gang a while ago where they said when they first started shooting, they didn't know if they were going to be able to even make the show work because Jerry couldn't keep a straight face while the other characters were delivering their lines. They finally decided just to keep his character that way, and if you watch Jerry's face, he always looks as if he's about to crack up (especially when Kramer starts on one of his rants). AND- we must remember, Julia, Michael, and Jason were trained as actors in theater and TV, while Jerry was "just" a stand-up comic at the time...

Jerry smirking/smiling in the bits is what sometimes MADE the bit funny, IMO. :)

that is true in a way. however I think it also adds a little realism to the show. in real life, when something is funny, you tend to laugh, am i correct?
