I am dangerously close to putting words in your mouth, and apologize in advance if they do not belong there.
However, I do find it ironic that the further to the right in the Retardlican party you go, the stronger you will find the convictions to be that it is not the place of the government to tell: A. business owners how to run their business's-in terms of who they can hire, what they can pay, how they can effect the environment etc., B. people what firearms they can own, and where they can shoot them, and C. who land owners can rent their property to.
These same people, however, with equal intensity feel that it is the governments place to tell: A. consenting adults who they can love and marry, and what activities these consenting adults can engage in behind closed doors, B. what flag owners can do with their private property, C. women who may be pregnant that they are unequipped to determine their own private morality as to whether or not the fetus is a viable human, and D. consenting adults that while they can drink Jack Daniels until their livers explode that they cannot smoke pot.
It appears that the place of government, in the minds of these people is to dictate to people how to think.
Pretty scary.
