In the episode where Seinfeld father is impeached; the episode ends when after the impeachment vote, all the three, Jerry, his mother and his father, dress and walk to the cadillac among the crowd of pensioners who wave goodbye to them. This ending is most obvious parody of something, but I do not know parody of what. Of what is this parody ?

Who remembers "Mannix"? I distinctly recall some episode where Mannix was mentioned as having served as a flyer in Korea. I was privileged to meet that actor, Mike Connors (of Armenian extraction), back in the late 1960s when in the "color guard" (me, not him) for a Boy Scout Camporee in St. Louis, Missouri. What a cool guy.
I am not sure about the music but the episode that is a parody of "Platoon" is "The Fatigues" - it is the slow motion vomiting scene that references the movie. And you are right. Frank was the cook and told about his experiences in Korea (also remember in "The Understudy", he speaks Korean).

Your statement, "I suppose those that believe Oswald was a lone shooter also believe Elvis is alive and Demi Moore was impregnated by aliens... those people will believe anything," I've used such statements myself (with some modification) to apply, conversely, to the "conspiracist" view. But then I formulated this statement that is less "confrontational": "The evidence that Oswald killed JFK is overwhelming; the evidence that anyone helped him is underwhelming. Period."
But let's not get bogged down here on this ng with the Kennedy assassination--to which, BTW, Seinfeld has made references--specifically to, yes, Oswald being the lone killer--tho' in "The Limo," doesn't Kramer say something about Jerry probably knows who killed Kennedy to which Elaine suggests, sardonically, maybe he was in on it? I don't know. This is the first I've heard of the problem. When I post from my office I use Netscape, but I'm at home now, using Outlook Express. Andy, this text wrapped properly. I just reread your posts and they now text wrap fine. I don't know what the problem was. I just changed the Options in my newsreader display and could stop the text from wrapping properly. So I guess it was my setting that, for some reason, was changed temporarily. Perhaps it was the guys behind the grassy knoll that did it. ;-)
