Whoever said she was? Julia Louis-Dreyfus is half Jewish (her father's side, I think), not the Elaine character.

Heavens no. It's just that I thought the writers established that Elaine and Julia Louis-Dreyfus were not, in fact, alike on this score, on several occasions in the scripts (for instance, two seasons ago, when Elaine says to the rabbi: "I'm not of your faith"). I always thought the questions were about George and his parents.

You and I knew that but there were still 15 posts per week asking "Is Elaine Jewish?" in addition to the George question.

For God's sake! Elaine is NOT JEWISH. She said so quite clearly in the episode in which Kramer got George's father to cater a dinner party for a Jewish Singles group. In that episode, Elaine clearly said "I am not Jewish." This episode was broadcast at least two seasons ago so this issue should have been burried at least that long.
