Hey what's Newman's (or should I say Norman's....)

first name? And how is it spelt!!

I think it was a joke- she was mis-speaking his name.

Could be that the farmer's daughter who called out "Norman!"

a. knew Newman's first name b. got his name wrong c. was given a false name by the slippery Newman.

I have an idea...

They should make an episode wherein we meet Newman's mother ... and find out that his first name is, of course... COSMO!!!!!!!!!!!

In the show about George's photomat pictures, Newman's business card just says "Newman." Wouldn't it have been funnier to have his full name on there with someone's thumb over the first name?

Yes, and what I was really shocked at - thought it was very funny, was that Wayne Knight played *Numa* in JFK and was the person that Kevin Costner used to stage Garrison's magic bullet theory just as Seinfeld parodied it with Wayne with the magic luggie. Nice connection!
