My question pertains not only to Seinfeld, but to virtually all TV shows and movies of the last several decades.
How come, in the closing credits, the year a TV show or film was copyrighted is always written in ROMAN NUMERALS, as opposed to plain English???

Seinfeld's copyright date uses cardinal numbers (i.e. 1998 rather than MCMXCVIII). I believe it is placed under the Castle Rock sign at the end. It doesn't show up on syndicated eps. Hoewver, the Disney/Touchstone shows use the roman numerals.
