By the way, I came up with the idea for a soup only restaurant sometime before the soup nazi episode ever appeared. But I was a poor college student at the time with little and no capital -ho hum.

Do you 'eat' soup or 'drink' it?

If it's in a cup I guess you would be drinking, whereas in a bowl you eat it... But you are basically doing exactly the same thing.

I'm currently petitioning the people at the Oxford English Dictionary to add a new word, 'Eank' (pronounced 'eenk'), to describe the ingestion of soup.

What do you think?

I'm sure if you cram enough croutons into a bowl of soup it would become more of a meal, due to a thicker, bread-like consistency.

When I was in graduate school at Purdue years ago, a friend from Ireland referred to "drinking soup". This struck me as odd at the time, and I think normally we don't refer to it as "drinking".
