SLUTTY Elaine in the Final Seasons?

Does anyone remember when Elaine was the fun-loving gal of the Seinfeld four... when she wasn't the (dare I say it) slutty character she was portrayed as in her relationship with PUDDY (or Putty... I'm not sure) Anyway, it seems to me that Elaine's character underwent a serious transition in the final years. She seems a lot different than the Elaine in the early Seinfelds.

I think her lowest point was either losing the bets to Jerry about having sex with Puddy or the episode where she dates the doctor and stops having sex... (the scene where she stares at the tires rotating for example)...

Wait, I just remembered another incident of the slutty Elaine... remember the episode where she has sex with the adoption agency guy so her friend can get a baby... What the hell's going on here... WHY DID ELAINE BECOME THIS SORT OF CHARACTER?

I think Elaine's sexual conduct was fairly consistent throughout the series' run. If anything, during the last season, the number of partners she had went down (because for much of that period, Puddy was her steady, and there's no evidence that she was unfaithful to him while they were a couple).

Your forgetting about the question of "sponge worthyness." Elaine had to cut down on sexual encounters because of a limited number of sponges availible to her.

For the same reason George turned into a screaming lunatic in the last season- the writers were getting lazy.

You may recall that when Jerry and George sit down to write their TV script, they can't think of anything for Elaine to say. ("What do women say?")

I think that Seinfeld and his writers-- yes, I know not all of them were men, but still-- did have trouble keeping Elaine from behaving like a man. Sometimes it was funny when Elaine did something macho, because Julia Louis-Dreyfus is so cute. Other times, it was a little unsettling.

I guess people like the slutty elaine better, remember when jerry was counting the money in one of the cadilac episode, and elaine acted like a slut there, and asked him if he wanted a ride from the airport? Don
