Let me be one of the first people to say that I enjoyed the season finale and thought it was one of the best episodes of the year.
I thought George's desparate last hour attempts to get out of the wedding were *gasp* funny! George trying to smoke and saying "It's too late, I'm addicted!" was hilarious. As was the role reversal of Jerry and George.
Yes Susan's death was a little tasteless but it was done in such an over the top, ridiculous manner that I didn't find it much of a downer.
George's muted reaction? Well, it wasn't very realistic but remember that just moments before he'd been willing to move to another country to get out of his wedding. He had mixed emotions for sure and who's to say what one's reaction should be. Maybe he grieved later, in private.
My overall thoughts on this season are that it was generally disappointing but with a few real gems (The Hot Tub, The Gum, The Soup Nazi). Their best years are behind them, IMO, but I'm looking forward to another year. Yes, even if it is more of the "tasteless" kind of humour some people found in last nights episode.
