It is an honor for anyone to be called "A Jewish Mother." My Mexican-Catholic mother is one, as are four of my seven uncles. To be labeled a Jewish mother means you are careful to ensure your kids eat enough, have good posture, are accomplished and don't go out in the cold without a sweater. If Elaine is obnoxious, it is not because of a Jewish Mother!
I agree with you, but in the case of Elaine, on last week's episode, Elaine clearly said "I am not Jewish" when she was talking with Seinfeld and Kramer about a Jewish singles party that Kramer was catering.
