A Jew Or Not A Jew?

I have no disrespect to Jewish people or the Jewish faith in itself. But I was wondering is the whole cast of Seinfeld Jewish?!? Please can someone determine for me who is or is not jewish in the Seinfeld cast.

Jerry Julia And Jason are Jewish I'm not sure about Michael Richards

I don't think he's anything. I doubt any of these people (or anyone in Hollywood) practices a formal religion except for New Age or Scientology.

On the show I think Elaine might be Catholic because she sent a "Nip" Christmas card to Father Chelios.Also in The Fatigues didn't Mr. Constanza belong to the Knights of Columbus.

On the show, George was defenantly Catholic. How many Italian Jews do you know? And yes, George Costanza is Italian, for those of you who were not sure...the actor is another story...

Well, I think _Life Is Beautiful_ is going to turn the spotlight on Italian Jews, however few there are...

I thought Julia was Christian because I belive I saw her in an interview once with a cross necklace on. I may be wrong though.

I don't think the Knights of Columbus is a religion. I think it's more of a fraternity, like the Shriners.

I didn't say K of C was a religion. I think it is a Catholic organization.

I agree that Estelle is supposed to be Jewish but I think I will flame you for another reason. How can you say one person is English and another is Jewish - can't a person be English and Jewish?

If you asked Mohamel and his friends they would say I was 'English' (c'est correct, non? mon ami?) but I can also be Jewish, Catholic, B'hai or Baptist... Aren't there Jewish English people? Or is this a UK thing again?

Jewish is an ethic term, Judaism is a religious term. Obviously, people can be both Jewish and English, I said so in the very same post you are referring to (my brother-in-law's mother was English and his dad was Jewish).

This is what I thought (I'm half Italian but not half Jewish) until I watched the Academy Award winning picture (Life Is Beautiful...isn't it though). After watching that I asked my Grandmother (Italian side of course) if there were many Italian Jews, and she said yes, back in "old country" anyway...

Not at all. I don't see how this is really relevant to anything, but Seinfeld is Jewish. I am not sure about the other cast members, but I would be surprised if they were all Jewish.

Cast: Jason Alexander, Jerry Seinfeld, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus are Jewish. Michael Richards, as far as I know, is not.

Characters: Only Jerry is Jewish. George's father is Catholic (he belongs to the Knights of Columbus) but my personal theory is that George's mother is Jewish, but George was raised Catholic. Estelle being Jewish would explain some things. :-)

I don't think George was raised Jewish because his family celebrated Christmas until a Festivus for the rest of us began. So he probably was raised Catholic if that is Frank's faith. Jeremy
