That is the impression I got from watching this first ever episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm.
S04E03 I think. Where Larry David needs to pee.
Let me tell you something, I don't think Larry was that much of the comedic influence we give him credit for.
This was worse than ovaltine. It is shot like a cheap porn movie. The camera movement is dire, and the shot where the SAME DOOR repeatedly opens, but the background it panned slightly away must have saved them a couple of bucks.
Larry is some sick guy, each 'social enigma' is lined up painfully and hit repeatedly with a dead seal until you feel so sorry for the supporting cast, realising that thier careers are probably over.
Is this one duff episode?
Do I not get this? In one episode he rips public urination, superman, the statue (sunblock) and the blind date stuff. (and the pop in, pop her out, I could't my bench is thin, HOW obvious can it be that he is trying to force something from his script into popular culture?)
Also, does he think the fact that he cannot act, or the slapstick nature of his every line delivery, or every line sounds like a table reading..., can be explained by the fact that he 'is playing himself'.
He even credits himself for Seinfeld in the show, which must be justified, I watched much on the early days of seinfeld, and I know he added a lot, ideas etc, but execution, I think Jeryr gave it the polish, or the spin, plus the other writers.

What kinda of sick person would do such a thing? Worse than hitting a car and driving off. Paying for curb your enthusiasm.
What was the show Julia LD was doing? Was that as bad?
Seriously, on amazon, it says 'if you liked seinfeld, you will like this' which is why I broke the law and decided for a free show, so I could judge.
How can I ever trust the comments on amazon again?

Wow, Jerry was right in pulling the plug, imagine in seinfeld had gotten like this.
Seriously, each section lines itself up, and the dire way in which he ties together blind guy, loosing car, borrow, clean, out of gas, lost sunblock, arab, pissing, I was flicking thorugh but...
the dialogue is empty, here is a classic line bound to be quoted in alt.tv.curb.your.enthusiam.idiots:
"I got severe tyre damage, it is true read the sign"
Wow, what a great use of 10 seconds of air time, *ba-dum pa-ching!* smooth lines larry, and the way you choke them out.

I am really really shocked. does anyone agree on the cheap porno camera work and directing? You can tell when different people directed diff seinfeld eps... but overall the directing is good.
And how does Seinfeld seem more relevant and modern than this? Even with his set wardrobe of 1 pink shirt, jeans to his lower ribs and white 'sneakers' the whole show looks more up to date.
Don't get me started on the film 'hitch' either...
