'M*A*S*H' was brilliant. Humour, anti-war politics, tragedy, friendship under extreme conditions.

I consider it to be the first of the modern US comedies, paving the way for the likes of 'Seinfeld' and 'Fraser'.

It too could support interweaving plotlines (perfected in 'Seinfeld', and to a lesser extent 'Friends').

The only older comedy I would still watch, is Bilko which still seems as fresh as ever.
