Or do you suppose they're so STUPID that they subscribe to all 20,000+ newsgroups and just look for stuff they can rant and rave and slobber about?

I'll bet they walk around with their pants unzipped saying things like "Uh-hilk, uh-hilk! Duhhhhhhh!"

If they don't like "Seinfeld" then why don't they have the intelligence to turn their television OFF or CHANGE THE CHANNEL or not subscribe to this newsgroup?

What a bunch of low-intellect morons. No wonder we get politicians like Bill Clinton and Newt Gingrich.

I read it because I saw the Dallas Morning News article and laughed so hard about the loser Whine-feld fans that I had to read their boo-hoo-hoo-ing myself.

Who watches that stupid show? It's as bad as Cheers, Friends, 30-something, Frasier, and all the other pseudo-hip boomer/yuppie crap. I'm a boomer (1954) but all yuppies should die slowly.

I don't like TV, period. It's all pap. I read books at night, jump out of airplanes on week-ends; in other words, I live life, instead of watching other people on a box live their imaginary lives.

Well, let's see, I've had a stroke, a skull fracture (explains a lot, huh?), one near OD, 3 parachute malfunctions and still going strong. I started jumping in '78. So that means I missed Dallas, Mork and Mindy, Cheers, 30-something, Miami Vice and who knows how much other dreck? Maybe some rainy week-end you can fill me in on all the great TV I missed? 8-)

Why can't you just respect the fact that some people have different tastes? You love sky diving, some of us would never in our right minds try it. Yet, we respect it. You like to read, some don't have the patience to. All I'm saying is, show some respect and you will be respected. It's a free country, let us watch what we want...you don't have to like it.

Rolando, your post touched me. No sarcasm here. Yours seems to be the most reasoned, polite statement of the feelings on this n.g. I hereby will stay off your n.g. since I'm not interested in Seinfeld in the least. I think how I got out of hand is that after reading the Dallas Morning News article I was surprised to find that Seinfeld fans were acting like Trekkies; I had to see for myself. You must admit that some of this wailing and beating of the breast over the loss of this show borders on the neurotic..at least, IMHO. I am worried when TV has that strong of a sway over people. In the words of St. Francis of Zappa:

When it comes to TV's "strong sway over people", it has nothing on the adrenaline rush you receive putting your life in danger, huh, Rick?

Sorry. "Get a life" is such an easy put-down, but when you think about it, the phrase itself is just as vapid as the lives of the people you are pointing a finger at.

I've had that urge since I was 8 yrs old, started when I was 24, haven't looked back yet. No middle age crisis here. 8-)

My 72-year-old mom (definitely not a boomer) loves Seinfeld, as does my brother (boomer, but he passes Jeff Foxworhty's redneck test with flying colors, so definitely not a yuppie), so what difference does it make whether Seinfeld is boomer/yuppie or not? (BTW, in the episode about the mom-and-pop store, Kramer derided Jerry, George, and Elaine for being "a bunch of yuppies")

If you don't like the show, don't watch it, but show a little respect for those of us who do--and if you watch the show and like it, don't let someone goad you into a war of name-calling. Don't stoop to that level.

What show are you watching? Every episode I've ever seen takes great joy in *busting* on the yuppies. That's what makes it so funny! Take a minute to think of the *biggest* dopes on the show. It's like a yuppie roll call:

Tim Watley Jackie Chiles Lloyd Braun The Maestro! (my favorite) The candy bar b*tch The "Desperado" guy

The list goes on and on! I'm laughing just sitting here thinking about the Desperado guy in his cool car talking down to Jerry who's standing out in the pouring rain because he can't buy an umbrella! "I'd give you a ride Jerry, but I've got Carl Farbman in here". Hilarious! Whoever thinks Seinfeld is a "yuppie" show is nuts.

Who here doesn't like Seinfeld? From my observations, everyone here is a fan. Not all of us like every season of the show - but we're still fans and still have episodes we like.
