There was a show on for a while that had to do something with a man and woman running a day care in their home. I think it was called something like Day by Day. Anyway, Elaine (JLD) played the snobby nieghbor. She was also in National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation. Again, she played Clark Griswold's (Chevy Chase) snobby neighbor. Definitely no the Elaine we all know and love.

The premise is that this guy used to work for a corporation with "Susan" [JLD's character] and he quit to run this daycare center out of his home with his wife. So that is how they know her. She was a total snobby, yuppie bitch and she was EXCELLENT! I only caught this show a few times and JLD is about the only thing that made any impression on me. She was truly fabulous, as I'm sure you could expect. I've seen this show on cable, the Lifetime network I believe. It's worth checking out just for good ole Lainey!

No, you're thinking of "Step By Step" with Suzanne Somers, a show I proudly did NOT watch. :) But there is a Patrick Duffy connection! On "Day by Day" the male lead was played by this actor that was on Knots Landing for a while. He played Ben, Val's love interest. Now Val used to be married to Gary [and remarried him later on] and Gary was brother to Bobby Ewing, who is Duffy's character!

i think its been shown in laboratory testing that "Step By Step" actually makes you dumber as you watch it. you can feel your brain draining just walking by the tv with that on.
speaking of suzanne, in that list of comedians - PLEASE remove John Ritter from it. he doesnt belong in that level of excellence. :)
yup. day by day was quite a show. it also featured courtney thorne-smith of melrose place--but that's another b-board altogether. ;)
