I know I posted that I would not do these and to an extent I am not, I did redo the ones that were messed up. they still are not as good as DVD copies would be. they are full screen and uncut (I do mean uncut from the studio) no labels no syndicatin cuts no commericals. I am only going to make about ten sets of these and the cost will be $150 for 60 plus disk this will include the two blooper tapes as well( I still have to master those to disc) as you can understand that will take me a long time to make a set for some one so I would like only serious inquiries. I will make avalible a disc for the person to view and test there system (dvd player or computer) if you want a set please contact me at [email]
I can reserve them and It will take some time to make a set
I understand your feelings towards illegal copying activities. I'd pay big bucks for an official release of all 180 episodes on dvd, but since mr Seinfeld and Columbia Tristar (?) seem to have a little disagreement, I have no choice but to get my daily "fix" from guys like this.

It's not so much the illegal bootlegging--it's the spam advertisements that irritate me and many others. About a year ago this newsgroup was plagued with constant off-topic messages about trading episodes and selling pirated copies. But the signal-to-noise ratio in this group has increased dramatically since then in part because we've encouraged the spammers and bootleggers (most of whom contribute *nothing* else of interest to this forum) to take their business elsewhere.
"Seinfeldonvhs" knows all this, and has been repeatedly asked to stop advertising here. He disappeared for a long time, but unfortunately it looks like he's back. Let's hope it's only temporary...

Taken from that point of view I can certainly understand wanting to curb the activity. It's just the playing cop I find objectionable. Some people have no compunction about bootlegging. I happen to be one of them. But if it's support creates a spam enviorment in this group, then I'm agi'n it!
I dont, because *trading* IS NOT illegal in any country yet. Call MPAA if you dont believe it.
that
How hard is it to add to your killfile any post with "trade' and "sale' in their subject?? Havent you learn how to use usenet programs yet??
pirated
Perhaps 'signal-to-noise' ratio would be kept at minimum if it wouldn't have been for guys like you, who always seem to produce at least few anti-spam offtopic posts to each and every spam message.
Get over it, everyone who wants to post trade/sell message here - will do it whether you like it or not, and your complaints to abuse@whatever _sender's_isp_is.com will only make them laugh
And if you and guys like homerrr won't stop polluting this group with additional comments to each spam I think I will have to add you to my kill file as well :( after all if you do search on yourself on yahoo you'll see that *lots* of your own posts is same crap as from spammers you comment.
perhaps its time to create seinfeld.trade group as some1 suggested, but its been suggested here at least few times afair (also by myself) - yet no one even tries to do it (I have no clue how to start new usenet group).
That would be an acceptable solution, and it's been proposed in the past. The problem is that people interested in episode trading or sale often don't use descriptive subjects suitable for filtering, let alone an agreed- upon code which everyone uses (e.g. [Trade]). Even the most sophisticated filters won't work with the typical subjects like "Looking for Seinfeld on tape" or "Anyone have PR episode?" or even the subject of THIS very thread: "Seinfeld complete studio cuts on VCD"
Like I've said, I also fully support the creation of a Seinfeld binaries group where people could trade episodes or even advertise their bootlegs, and I'll do my part to promote it as a more appropriate forum than this one.
Unfortunately I must agree with you - you cant filter everything what YOU consider as spam (to someone else interested in trade or buying i.e. Seinfeld on VHS obviously this trade wouldnt be a spam, right?). But pretty much you can filter out most of it, as usually most of sale/trade have exact words in their subject. Heck, there are some newsreaders that let you even filter out all posts that contain in their body phrases, and you can set them up using simple IF/AND/OR/THEN variables - that would be too complicated for average person, yet still is powerfull filter mechanism.
Im said you've cut out and didnt reply to the heart of my post, because filters etc stuff we just discuss is about basic usage of OutlookExpress or other mail/news readers, while my point was that homerr - and often you too - produces more spam about what he consider as spam, than its all worth it.
If someone starts the "vote for need" or whatchamacallit is the first step to open new group - pls LMK, I'll do my part as well.
I'm not really sure I understood that paragraph; I tried to edit it so it made more sense, but it's still pretty murky. I believe you're asking why I didn't comment on your claim that off-topic jokes, etc. are "spam", right? I didn't respond because it sounded like a personal attack, and I assumed you were just trying to start a flamewar. But if you sincerely want an answer, I'll give you one.
This is a discussion group about Seinfeld, which is a comedy. Over the course of a discussion about comedy, people make jokes and other humorous observations which may not always be completely Seinfeld-centric (i.e. "on- topic"). As conversations progress, participants may find that a thread deviates from the original topic. This is all within the realm of the purpose of this newsgroup, which again is *discussion*.
In contrast, simply posting advertisements does NOT contribute to a discussion about Seinfeld, it violates the non-commercial intent of this newsgroup (see any of the links I've posted in the past supporting this), and simply lowers the "signal-to-noise" ratio of this group. Furthermore, these advertisments are especially bothersome when posted by people who contribute nothing else to the DISCUSSION of Seinfeld.
As for the "off-topic nature" of responding to advertisements: I generally don't. I simply forward it to the appropriate abuse representatives without mentioning it in the newsgroup. If people comment on whether or not such advertisements are appropriate in here, I may put in my $0.02 (as I have done in this thread), although again it's just participation in an existing conversation; I don't recall starting any of these debates. Likewise, when the idea for a binaries Seinfeld group was mentioned, I responded with my support and some suggestions. Do you honestly not see the difference between such discussion participation and the blatent spam advertisements which you frequently post?
I have a suggestion, John. If you feel compelled or forced into reading messages on the subject of trading episodes, perhaps you should stop using the internet for your own safety? After all, no one should be forced to read anything. But on the flip side, everyone has the right to post whatever they want, it's your choice to read it or not! News groups like this are meant for discussions, just as you said. However, discussions are just as valid even if they talk about trading episodes. Who's to say your discussion is more valid then there's?
Discussions about the illegality of offering complete sets of a tv series are just as valid as your suggesting John stop using the internet for his own safety????? Valid? Illegal? Makes sense to me?
"homerr..2k2" wrote in message news:a71d34$fja$[email]...
I dunno homerr, maybe you're too busy focusing in on my typo, but obviously you didn't understand my point. John voices his opinion as if he is being forced to read all of the messages that have to do with trading episodes. My point is, he shouldn't be forced to read messages that he obviously has no use for. If he is being forced to read, he shouldn't be using the Internet for his own safety since there's a lot of propaganda to be read lol.
Also, I never said "Discussions about the illegality", I said discussions about trading episodes. I don't think the FBI would consider a "discussion" about trading episodes a crime of the century. You shouldn't try to censor our right to freedom of speech. And if someone is doing something illegal, wouldn't that be "their" business, not yours? Maybe you should join law enforcement and actually receive a paycheck for your self appointed duties? Otherwise, what's the sense of it?
This topic has been covered many times in here in the past. Since you're new, I'll do a brief recap.
This isn't about censorship. It's about finding the best way for like- minded people to do their thang. And that's really the whole reason why there are tens of thousands of different newsgroups, each with a different subject. If you want to post messages about needlepoint, than you do it in an appropriate group. Likewise, not all topics are appropriate in this group since it's intended for the discussion of Seinfeld. Yes, obviously people can skip past the spam, the ads, etc. but the problem is that it lowers the signal-to-noise ratio of the group. This started to happen about a year ago, and it was driving away people who wanted to actually discuss Seinfeld. When that happens, the newsgroup dies.
If there is a large subgroup of people who want to trade episodes, then it makes sense to create a binaries group for this purpose, especially since they could actually TRADE episodes in a binary group (this one is text- only). I fully support the creation of such a group, and will do my part to help it prosper. Furthermore, when people come here to discus buying/selling/trading episodes, I've given them links to better forums where they can find other people with the same interests. Again, it's not about censorship--it's about bringing together people with common interests.

I agree 100% with shutting down these bootleggers. I just wish the copyright holders would end their hoarding of a great television production. I suppose the syndication deal includes clauses that prevent the release of the shows on DVD or VHS. Seinfeld is still strong enough to be shown at 7:30 AND 11:00 in major markets, so that says a lot about the popularity of the show four years after the end of its first run.

<snip the rest of the BS>
Thanks for reminding me why I choose not to use hotmail LOL.
Also, as I mentioned, hotmail cannot hold any legality issues against Don for what he posted. E-mail accounts have nothing to do with what he was trying to accomplish.
Nevertheless, what did you accomplish by closing his free email account? He can keep opening infinite accounts anywhere. Also, if you would have checked, his IP# was a proxy, untraceable to his ISP unless you bring in the team of investigators to run a thorough trace on Don. But since it's not the crime of the century or has to do with any pedophile bullshit, I highly doubt they'll even consider that.
Geez, leave Don alone and utilize your kill-file. If you all want what's right for the group, instead of arguing your point and posting publicly that you netkopped someone, just ignore people if they lack moral issues that conflict with your standards. Unless you live a squeaky clean existence, you have no right to pass judgment on people like Don. What comes around, goes around!

the
Question: Lets say someone is sending unwanted another "Seinfeld for sale!" (or similar) post to this group signed with all homerr's addresses, homerr's IP, etc (all forged in post's header of course) and next this person is sending complaint to homerr's ISP resulting in closing homerr's email account - would this finally stop stupid people like homerr from polluting this group with his/her stupid comments to every *sale/trade* post?
I'd do this simple trick just to cut him off the group for a day or two, but I think it wouldnt help anyway, he'd open another & another & another account - just because he has no real life, I just researched on yahoo for his posts in past year - geeez, he is sending his crap to newsgroups 24/7, he must be some paraplegic insomniac tight up to the keyboard to have time for all this! Thus imho he/she thinks he/she is another Messaiah send to save whatever from anotherwhatever etc... hopeless basket case.
best solution imho is just drop him to your killfile, and if his complaint on your post will result in closing one of your account - close his account as well in a way i described above on any other meaner way ;-)
nuff said and nuff waste of time spent on such dumb person
"homerr..2k2" wrote in message news:a65ldg$pq1$[email]...
All 4 of those abuse addresses will not give a shit about your netkop complaints homerr..2k2. I'm not wanting to take sides here, just wondering why in the hell you would decide to whine to stanford.edu and uoregon.edu? lol Educational institutions have higher priorities then to care about what was posted in a newsgroup. Hotmail.com cannot have any legal issue with Don' s postings in a usenet forum, and google.com won't care either, since he's not overly abusing any Spam law's, but practicing he's freedom of speech.
I cannot understand why people like you get all bent out of shape when someone tries to make illegal copyright deals? Not that this justifies Don's actions, but I'm sure seinfeld has made millions over with his episodes, and if he wanted to make more, why not distribute official DVD's? In the mean time, who cares in little Don wants to profit for his time spent making copies of episodes for other people! I'm sure Mr. Seinfeld isn't going to suffer any, nor worry about competition if he ever decides to distribute DVD quality episodes that we all would buy.

I agree with you sray! He was only charging about $2 each, and making them himself. It's not like he's going to make a living off it. It's really more gray-market than black-market, as each of these episodes is available for FREE every day. So he is hardly competing with anyone. If somebody is bothered by him so much, they should just killfile him and live and let live.

He's really not even profiting with his deals if you take into consideration how many cd-r's he's giving you, time spent on encoding and copying to cd. Hell, if I didn't have every episode already I might have given Don a reply. I dunno why people get angry when others try to make an extra couple bucks with something that isn't going to hurt anyone, but give pleasure to the person that enjoys watching seinfeld episodes. As I said numerous times, the majority of the episodes available via the Internet are really lacking the quality of what a dvd would produce. Thus, whenever the Columbia Tri-Star people ever decide to produce dvd seinfelds, most of us would be happy to purchase them. In the mean time, we're all stuck to copy them ourselves on tape, and if we have skills to encode divx or vcd, good for us, it's no big deal. Live and let live!
well it would seem that someone got my hotmail account closed now. so reply to this email account

maybe a few will get through.
I agree with both sides of this arguement however I still don't understand what the crusaders have to gain by doing a policeing of the newsgroup unless they are hoping somebody will notice their standup actions and hope to get a job
as for another person who might frequent this group by the name of Mike. this person bought a tape set from me (that I sold a year ago) and had to get a remake of tapes 4 and 9 becuase of sound. since my hotmail was closed, I cannot access your address off of it. if you read this please reply to [email] and I can get back in touch with you to send them out to you
again thanks everybody for the support and for the people against me (not really john T. because we agreed along time ago to disagree)you are entitled to your opinion as well
I have downloaded songs off of Napster. I have purchased KTMA-era episodes of Mystery Science Theater. I have copied CDs and audio tapes. I have copied computer games. When thoughts of ownlife occurred to me, I reveled in them. I have watched illegally descrambled porn. I have taped baseball games without the express written consent of Major League Baseball. I went into the proletarian zones and consorted with prostitutes. I have read photocopied books. I have purchased currently released bootlegged movies. I have purchased bootlegs of concerts. I deliberatly contracted syphillis and spread it to members of the Outer Party.
In these ways, and many others, I have betrayed my country and our leader in the most important place: my mind. In short, I am a thought criminal.
Yet I still sleep soundly at night. Ain't that a pip?
Frankly, taking money from Jerry Seinfeld's pocket isn't the greatest moral dilemma I'm going to face in my lifetime. I feel worse about copying all those Dead Kennedys tapes; they actually needed the money.
What does an uncut studio Seinfeld show have that syndicated don't? Where do you get uncut shows from if everyone's source is from television? Does no labels mean it doesn't show the credits?

no it means these copies are from the studio (castlerock)this is the story. supposedly when the show rapped in 97, as a thankyou gift and going away present they made copies of the episodes on SP tapes for the cast and crew. well apparently one of the crew decided he wanted money more then the tapes so he sold them on ebay after awhile (this was before they shut down all tape auctions on ebay) anyhow the person that bought that set for about 800 bucks made sets from them. on EP and Sp he charged 800 bucks for the sp version adn 250 for the ep version. he was not around very long as I think he told me he got a letter from the lawyers of who ever manages it. so he sold me an EP version and made some sets along time ago and sold them out to make my money back.
ok so what is the difference in them. well for starters, those little station ids that are on alot of channels now...not there. the weather watchs and announcemtents....not there. the commericals needless to say are not there. in short this would be a copy a tv studio would receive and then they would overlay their graphics onto it and getting to the cuts. syndication has a lot more commericals in it. the standard episodes shown on fox is approx. 20 minutes. mine run for approx 22 minutes.
to give you some examples...the parking space (as we all know) was recut when it went to syndication with jerry stiller, however the original episode had a different actor doing the same lines. most have not seen it.
in some of the later episodes there are lead ins with the title that sometimes tie in to the story and some times do not
