I've been a fan of Seinfeld for many years. And, actually I've become more of a fan just by watching the nightly reruns here in Hawaii since I've been able to see some episodes that I had missed. BUT, recently I've been really bored watching the shows. Can someone give me an incentive to watch avidly?

Aloha,

Laura

I've noticed that if I'm watching an episode I've seen so many times I can practically recite the dialog along with the characters, I'll sometimes 'lose myself' in the background action. Sometimes there's more going on that just the primary characters speaking. You could try to read the lips of the waitress and the guy in the next booth at Monk's just to see if you can tell what he's ordering. You can watch the extras during crowd scenes, like at the Super Bowl ("The Label Maker") or the U.S. Open ("The Lip Reader") or Yankee Stadium ("The Letter") If you know the episode in advance (thanks to syndication schedule posts), you can load up Mike's Seinfeld Lists site or the Seinfeld FAQ and create a sort of checklist of foods or clothes or cars or something then check off everything you recognize in the episode. Or look for things that can be added to either of those web sites, things like continuity errors or fake movie names on posters in the backgrounds, or, jeez, there's really a lot you can do.

Could be fun...Don't have to worry about your meals, what you're gonna do Saturday night. [You] could put on a show....maybe "Bye Bye Birdie" or "My Fair Lady"....

Tape a week's worth of episodes and do some drinking games like a sip of beer or shot:

1) everytime Kramer comes in the door
2) everytime a characters name is mentioned
that isn't in the room at the time
3) when they change scenes
4) someone enters Jerry's apartment
5) the phone rings
6) pick a word and everytime someone
     someone says it . . .

etc. etc. etc.

Of course if you don't drink, ignore me like the dog that I am.
