These Friends of Mine tries too hard to be Seinfeld. They try to talk about nothing. But...it's just not funny. She [Degenerate] is just plain old annoying. Before the first episode of TFOM, I saw an article in the paper, _The Miami Herald_, I believe, and they said said that she is the female Seinfeld. So, I tape an episode and am extremely disappointed. Many of the Seinfeld fans I know, watch the show, and think that it is on par with Seinfeld.

However, the characters are not as developed, and it doesn't have the cultural/geographical uniqueness of Seinfeld; it's not Jewish or set in New York, substituting instead a fairly bland set of WASP characters in a fairly bland Californian environment. I wonder how well it would be doing away from Home Improvement.

HOWEVER, I have to say I am disappointed with TFOM. There is no need for it to be an EXACT mirror image of Seinfeld! There's even an annoying neighbor, for god's sake! I'm also bothered by the fact that Ellen goes psycho at least once a show, babbling non-stop. She has so much funny material, and she's just not using it. And her friends (aside from Adam, who shows promise) are BLAND! I certainly hope it gets better next season, or I'm not going to watch.
And P.S., I heard Ellen wondering on "Before they Were Stars" who told her that the hairstyle she had in the '80s was flattering. "Why didn't someone TELL me it didn't work," she lamented (or something like that). I'm here to tell you right now that your current hairstyle could use an overhaul. Don't say no one ever said anything.

Well, have to agree with you there. There's no NOTHING comedy in it, but alot of NOTHING talking in it. Where's the Goofy one? Every show needs a kramer.
