Matzo ball?

I have a question. The name of this particular episode escapes me, but it's the one where George says "I love you" to his girlfriend and she responds with" I'm hungry, let's go get something to eat." I remember that Kramer had an altercation with Barry the chimpanzee at the zoo, and was forced to apologize. At any rate, Jerry referred to the lack of the "I love you" return as a matzo ball. My question is, what does a matzo ball have to do with a romantic faux pas?

Just for clarification...I know what a matzo ball is. :-) I love matzo ball soup...but who doesn't?

But seriously, imagine two Italians referring to a huge chunk of 'unfinished business' as "a pretty big ravioli hanging out there". It's the same thing. Maybe a little stereotypical, but who's gonna complain? (Oh yeah. Them.)

Anyway, there's no hidden meaning concerning the comparison of a matzoh
ball with unrequited love, if that's what you were asking. :)

Just, talking about Seinfeld and motzo balls, on SNL with Jerry Seinfeld and Annie Lennox, Jerry played Elijah the prophet in one skit and he was telling the mom how salty the soup was... just felt like sending a message!
