Okay, so we all know that Jerry is a neat freak. Infact, he doesn't even have hair in a brush or in the shower drain?
So my question is .... When does he clean?
Surely with George & Kramer around, the place gets dirty from time to time but we never see him clean.
I think that showing a person cleaning is considered not funny, and since the show is a comedy, they try to avoid showing things that aren't funny.
You may as well ask why we never see Jerry paying his phone bill. He talks on the phone alot, but you never see him get a bill, look at it, then get his checkbook out, write out a check, put it in the envelope, stamp it, then give it to Newman. Why? Because it's just not very funny.
I believe it's called Willing Suspension of Disbelief. The show is so good, that we, the audience don't notice that we never see Jerry paying his phone bill, or cleaning. Most of us don't ask ourselves when he does these things, even though he must do them in real life and we never see him do it. Therefore we willingly suspend our disbelief that the show is not reality.

I orginated the question concerning "When does Jerry Clean?"
Actually cleaning is pretty funny: Do you remember when Jerry hired a friend to clean his apartment and found that a item was stolen. This was apart of the main plot.
Jerry's character being the Single, Thin & neat Male has often been apart of the plot (people thought he was gay). I simply asked the question to stimulate discussion and I thank you for participating.

Actually Jerry doesn't have to clean. Remember he eats most of his meals at the diner and probably uses the restroom there as well. I am not sure where he takes his showers, probably at the television station or the club where he does his act!!! He usually spends the night at a friend's house, so since he is never home, except when he and George sit on the couch to watch TV, he probably feels that his apartment is always clean......

Sorry, Roma, but it is out of the question for Jerry to use a public restroom or shower. He would never expose himself to others' waste or athletes foot or plantar warts. One has to wonder how the man ever achieves sexual intercourse with another human being!!

Maybe he gets his girlfriends to and they probably think that it might lead to something more permanent with him. <G> Or maybe he has something on Newman and makes him come in sometimes to clean. <VBG>
When the show is only a 30-minute-a-week chronicle of a character's exploits, it can't show everything.

This reminded me...in older episodes, Jerry's apartment looks a little grimy and yellowed, to give a cheap New York apartment feel. For at least the past 2 seasons, it has been spotless--unrealistically clean. Anyone else notice this?
