Susan's the culprit!

Watching "The Bubble Boy" again in syndication recently, I saw something I hadn't noticed before, and I don't remember if it's been mentioned in this group -- it was SUSAN who "tried to kill" the Bubble Boy, not George!! The BB had George by the throat, and George was using both hands to try to get loose. Susan was banging on the bubble plastic, and she popped it -- SUSAN did it, not George!!

No. George was being attacked by the Bubble Boy because the Bubble Boy refused to accept that the answer to a question was moops, which was what the trivial pursuit card said. As George was being strangled, Susan hit the bubble and it collapses. She was acting in defense of George and thus was not the aggressor. Furthermore, the Bubble Boy deserved his fate and survived. She was not trying to kill him.

Then you are ignoring legal facts. She was in defense of George and thus the Bubble Boy was in the wrong. Furthermore, if anything this instance demonstrates a good quality of Susan, since she came to George's defense and committed a self less act. Elaine hasn't done any like this in quite a while (2 or three seasons) and wouldn't even consider this. In fact, in this very same episode she hurts Jerry by forcing him to sign a picture for that diner. Susan was doing nothing wrong by aiding George against his attacker. The bubble, itself, is to blame since all she did was hit it with her fist and if a bubble couldn't take that, it was not safe enough to protect some one with such a weak immune system.

Even self-defense has limits. A "reasonable person" would have to be in fear for his or her life. Surely George could have gotten away from the Bubble Boy without Susan nearly killing the guy by severly damaging his life-support equipment.

	Oh sure, blame the victim.  This sounds like Kramer's argument
when they parked in the handicapped space.  A woman couldn't get up the
ramp, so he (and George) blame it on the wheelchair.  They can't admit
that they -- like Susan -- were the initial cause of her distress.
	I think I'll go out and puncture oxygen tents, kick away crutches,
smash hearing aids, then you can be my lawyer and argue that it was all
the fault of the handicapped people.  And you say *Elaine* is cruel!

You are being ridiculous and I think that you know it. The bubble was obviously defective and furthermore George could not escape from the bubble boy's grip and the bubble boy was strangling him. The bubble boy is no more a victim than a criminal is a 'victim of society's ills'. He was a jerk, he was attacking George, and Susan rose to his defense. She did the right thing, there's nothing you can say that can controvert this fact, and I don't think there's any more to say.

This is really weird. Why would you defend a fictional character's integrity? "In the wrong"? "Alleged"?
