Feb 9 episode, among other things

I'm one of those who've been saying the quality has been sinking, and I still think so. I've been a viewer since the first episode of "The Seinfeld Chronicles", so I've earned the right to be snooty. But to me, the shows now and last year just don't compare to the early days. They still have funny moments, but they're fewer and farther between. And the low points are definitely lower. The recent episode where Jerry races his old high school buddy was particulary bad, IMHO. Some of the lines there weren't far removed from a "Family Matters" episode.

In general, I think the quality of the writing has declined, and they're attempting to fill the gap with more broad humor and "wacky" situations.

I definitely agree that the shows are getting worse. But then, last night I found myself really enjoying the show. When it broke for a commercial half way through, I thought to myself, "This is classic Seinfeld!" Then the second half started and it was all downhill from there. The homeless guy thing was so lame. Kramer was very funny in the lineups, but of course had to come in and scream for a while at the end. He's so much funnier when he's quiet! I really thought that most of the scenes last night were really funny, but most of the other shows this season just weren't. The stories are just so contrived now, you just know how eveything's going to wind up. That's not all that bad, but I just don't think they're pulling it off every time. Last night's show was very funny, bad story or not. I don't think any others from this season were half as funny.

Arthur "Two Cents" Jackson

"Family Matters"? Try "Full House". This show is so pathetic it hurts. I've been there from the beginning watching when there were only about 250 of us, and I would laugh through out the entire episode. Either it was Morty or Helen, or Kramer and Newman getting in trouble, George acting neurotic, Jerry playing the straight man, Elaine being Elaine. Now, I don't get it. I will sit there and watch, the studio audience is howling, and it isn't funny. I had said that I gave up on it as of the 100th episode. I couldn't help it, I had to tune in, force of habit. That's it, I have to give up. It is far to painful, it simply isn't funny. It's pathetic. The only thing I can equate this to, is a once great boxer getting the shit kicked out of of himself. It's painful to see, you knew how good this show was, and now look at it.

I have got a little question, where the hell do they get these audiences from? The laugh everytime a word comes out of anyones mouth. That applause sign must be on constantly, most of the shows budget must be going to that applause sign, that sucker must be sucking the electricity down. Am I the only one who sees it like this?
