How long did George live with Susan? Would he be able to sue the foundation for common-law or anything? He couldn't get stuff like what the parents were going to give them, but Susan's doll collection was valued at over 2 million. Wouldn't George be entitle to at least half of Susan's estate?
Just wondering the legalities of this ... it might be funny to watch George try this, lose it, and then find out he'd be getting paid 100 g's for sitting on the Board of the Susan Foundation.

George only lived with Susan for a short while. I don't know the specifics of NY law, but I highly doubt that a common law marriage can be based upon less than one year of living together.

The 7 year thing is a myth. The length of time has little to do with it. Most states that recognize common law do NOT put a time period on it. To be common law, the couple has to hold themselves out as married. Some things that are evidence of "holding out" as being married include: introducing themselves as Mr and Mrs, referring to themselves in public as married, she takes his name, they file a joint tax return, signing leases as husband and wife.
