Just saw tonite's episode. They continue to confirm their brilliance. I have a new favorite quote.

nuff said.

Last night's was yet another crackup. Don't ya just love it when George and his mother whine back and forth? They're super. What was that quote about (below)? His hands? I missed the first 10 min.

In the Atlanta Constitution of last thursday (I THINK) was a little article on "The puffy shirt" episode and it stated that the original motto of the SEIN was not "A show about nothing", but "No hugs, No lessons". According to the author of the article this motto can still be found in Larry David's office. Jerry came up with the slogan "a show about nothing" much later. So it is about something after all. It is about no hugs and no lessons.

When asked about the idea that the show is about "nothing" in the Playboy interview, Jerry said:

*ding!* I'd say that's it. Take a look at your own lives, I'm sure you'd find a lot of "normal" moments that would be a load of laughs over the boob-tube. Seinfeld is just a show about four people (though four slightly-screwier-than-your-averge-lot people)

And about mangoes... is it difficult to find elsewhere in the country? (I see messages about it, though I don't read too many of them.) Of course I do live in Hawaii... where's it's something of a law that every street have at least one tree (and ten people who steal the mangoes off of them... =^)

Here in the Windy City, my roommate and I went looking for mangoes the day after this show aired. Our regular supermarket (Jewel) did not have them; we had to go to the more yuppified Treasure Island to get them, and the ones they had looked a bit bruised.

Like George, I too am TEMPORARILY living at home. I'm truly inspired by the last episode: I'll take it in my room.

Did you notice how the episode tied into last season? When George and colleagues were discussing the fate of the previous hand model, George said something like "Don't worry, I won a contest". What a great line and what a great way to refer to last year's best episode.
