2/6 was weak

It seems the writers took this week off.

The show was a mess of ideas that had potential but weren't fully realized. I still don't really *get* the whole deal with Jerry's girlfriend. Bringing in his parents for dinner at the diner was lame. George and Kramer taking an immediate dislike to Ellen was never explained. Their little chat with Jerry didn't go anywhere. It was like the writers had no idea either so they just chalked it up as "one of those things".

Kramer selling his life stories (his soul?) to Peterman (the devil?) was a great premise but it was introduced too late in the show and they didn't do as much with it as they could have. This should have beem the main focus of the story.

How does someone with a 2.0 GPA even get an interview with the foundation? How does he just up and join a gang? I thought the ending was bad with George trying to mug Jerry's parents and them just brushing it off as George being weird. I think a better ending would have been George greeting Jerry's parents with hugs (and they would have confused looks on their faces), George lifts Morty's wallet without him knowing and the final scene is the Seinfelds at the airport with Morty repeating his classic line: "My wallets gone!". Instead George just ran away. Guffaw!

So far this is the worst episode of an otherwise worthy season, IMO.

Now THAT would've been classic! Too bad there doesn't seem to be any writers left on the staff with your creativity; though last week's "The Comeback" was very much like the high quality Seinfeld of old.

It was pretty bad, but not even close to the worst, at least in my mind. Have you seen "The Soul Mate"?

I completely agree. I didn't laugh once, and it just seemed to be going nowhere. It seems to me that this season contains the best of Seinfled (last week's show) and the worst, with not many "in between".

Agreed, this would have been a better ending.

I'd say actually a better than average episode in a thoroughly mediocre (at best) season.

How about a book of Bob Saccamano stories in the form of a full-size Bob Saccamano?

Here's how 2/20 would have been funny: Kramer dumps poison petrochemicals all over the highway, and as animals and people start dying from the fumes a young family gets caught in neuman's blaze and perish in the inferno...then kramer, with his usual sly grin, lights a cigar and moves on to his next act of careless, unfunny, selfish destruction...until one day he blows himself up and his parts land all over the upper west side...now that's funny...just to add a bit more humor: the grandson of the old lady that Jerry mugged for a loaf of bread...he beats the shit out of the that skinny, misoginyst, latent homosexual....and george gets AIDS from the cleaning women he screwed on his desk (becuasse he happened to have the bottle of Hennigans handy -- you know guys like George, when they're not screwing beautiful women they're slugging down cheap whiskey...

Ok but, the Audrey not eating pie deal was explained indirectly when we saw why Jerry wouldn't eat at Poppie's and so we could infer that something similar may have happened to her. I never had any doubt about Delores' name after seeing that episode and even for those who did there was a good base of information from that episode to debate it. Kramer's first name was never something that was really discussed or made the plot of an episode until the one where we do find it out.

Sure the situations are similar, I just didn't find much effort was put into the one in the last episode to make it work.

I thought that "The Van Buran Boys" was a very worthy Seinfeld. I loved it. Yes, I was dissapointed with the lack of the tie in at the end but it was better than Jerkstore, where only George seemed to shine. This episode had great Kramer, George, Jerry, and Elaine. The ending did lack alot. I wish Larry David were here to bring his emmy-award winning twists back in. This season has faced many struggles without him and I now disagree with Jerry's statement last May :"The show pretty much writes itself!" This season has been poor Seinfeld, excellent T.v. which goes to show you how great Seinfeld really is.

I maintain that there used to be a lot of mystery, and it added something to the show when these mysteries were alluded to later, and sometimes even solved.

All I can say is that it worked for me--no it's not ROTFL funny or Kramer pratfall funny, but it was thoughtful comedy. YMMV.

Exactly, exactly, exactly! I thought the first 10-15 minutes were very funny, but it just went downhill from there. I must admit I have no alternative plot lines, but I thought the George thing and the Jerry's girlfriend thing were *very* funny premises that just somehow died. Frankly, that's the way I feel about Seinfeld lately ... the first half is very enjoyable, the way they wrap everythin up is lame.

Maybe the writers were going to try and tie the three premises together and in the end they realized they couldn't so they just let it fall apart left everybody standing there scratching their heads.
