I think the best part of "The Pony Remark" is when manya says "I had a pony. When I was a little girl in Poland, we all had ponies. My sister had pony, my cousin had pony. So what's wrong with that?" yes of course the characters are say outrageous things in front of each other and occasionally acquaintances, but would Jerry have really said something like that at someone else's dinner table? Maybe Kramer, but Jerry is fairly "polite" when he wants to be...

But wasn't he there against his will? It might be the case he was simply making idle chit-chat because he was expected to, but not really putting much thought into what he was saying.
