I read some VERY interesting information about the last episode of Seinfeld on a major (well known!) site yesterday. It, like others lately, posted a supposed plot of the last episode. Two things make me believe that this one has a ring of truth to it... 1) IT SOUNDS GREAT AND TYPICLE OF SEINFELD 2) THE BEFORE MENTIONED SITE TOOK DOWN THE POSTING AFTER ONLY A COUPLE OF HOURS It is #2 that makes me suspicious. Why would they take it down???? Because it was real probably! Sounds like NBC caught wind of it. I don't want to mention the site because I'm hoping they will sneak it back up. If they do I will let everyone known. Meanwhile this is what I remember...
The episode is supposedly titled THE MISSING SOCK ( a reference to Jerry's old stand up act, used in the first season/episode)
The episode is an elaborate spoof of the Michael Douglas movie THE GAME and Francis Ford Coppala's THE CONVERSATION. Those of you who saw these movies can see where this is going. Those of you who haven't...go rent them! The plot envolves a depressed Jerry contemplating whether or not to continue his relaxed lifestyle or go back on the road and focus on his comedy career. Everyone tells Jerry he needs to go. Overwelmed by everyone's badgering (his parents, Elaine, George, Kramer, ect) Jerry isolates himself in his apartment for much of the episode. Whether it is due to his cramped space or everyones constant calling, Jerry grows suspicious. A paranoid Jerry starts to examine everyone in his life via flashbacks and reinactments. As Jerry grows more frantic here tears out his phone and closes his blinds, he feels he is being watched. This soon leads to Jerry tearing apart his apartment in attempt to find the truth(THE CONVERSATION). And then it happens...Jerry finds a hidden camera behind a vent! This obviously pushes Jerry to pursue further. He leaves his apartment and starts to search the building. Floor by floor Jerry opens the doors, much to the surprise of unexpecting neighbors. Jerry then gains access to a floor that he previously did not know existed. It is a long hall with a single door at the end> Jerry approaches, the door reads CENTRAL CONTROL. Jerry reluctantly enters.. Inside is a small room, before him is a desk with a sign that reads OUT TO LUNCH. Behind the desk is a wall of video screen moniters. Each one a familiar locale to Jerry. Several views of his apartment, his parents house, the coffee shop, ect. Jerry stands amazed, staring at the screens. Then someone walks out of a door on the other side of the room. Jerry turns to see the back of a women punchning out on a time clock. As the woman turns Jerry sees that it is George's supposedly dead ex wife. She rushes back into the room. Jerry goes to the door marked STAFF and opens it. Inside is a large cafeteria like reception area with about 50 to 100 people walking about socializing and reading scripts. In a daze, Jerry walks through the room in shock. Every person there is a familiar face ( Puddy, Peterman, Soup Nazi, Kenny, George's parents, Bubble Boy, ect) (THE GAME)... They all ignore him as he walks further. He approaches yet another door marked THE BOSS. Jerry opens the door to see the backs of George, Elaine, and Kramer. When the door shuts, they all turn around revealing Newman sitting behind a desk. Newman stands and welcomes Jerry. It is not the Newman Jerry knows. He is calm and distinguished. He asks Jerry to sit while he expains. He starts by inroducing George, Elaine, and Kramer by their true names. He tells Jerry that they are actors, part of an elaborate gaming service payed for by Jerry's parents. He tells Jerry that his parents were afraid that his life would not amount to anything so they poured their retirement fund into this gaming service several years ago. Newman expalins that their objective was to create a environment so crazy and absurd that Jerry would have to leave and go on the road, and leave New York. Newman admits that they didn't think it would go on this long, and that Jerry was their toughest case yet. He goes on to explain that Jerry's parents' contract is due to expire this month so they needed to push a little more. Hence the badgering and career advice of the past several days Newman finishes and asks Jerry to respond. His only response is to say "I think I'de like to go now" ....Newman pushes the intercom and tells someone to bring in the kit. A little man walks in and hands Jerry a suitcase and a bus pass, and tells him that everything he needs is in the case. In an Oz like ending Jerry says his goodbyes to George, Elaine, and Kramer only this time he is using their real names...Ted, Annabelle, and Drake. Jerry turns to "Kramer" and hugs him and says"I'll miss you most of all Scarecrow". Jerry exits the office back into the lounge where he is welcome with applause from all his well wishers/friends/actors. Jerry walks out towards the door, stops, bends over and picks up a brown sock. He smiles at finding his missing other sock and tucks it into his suitcase and walks out through the moniter room. The camera turns to the glowing wall of screens, focuses on his empty apartment. FADE TO BLACK
I think this would be a great ending to the show, I hope this is real. The site that posted it said was sent to them by someone at NBC? Let me know what you think or if you have seen this info posted anywhere else. ***I posted this same message yesterday but it never went up*******
