similarities to It's like, you know

Has anybody noticed that 'Seinfeld' is similar to 'It's like, you know'?. I note that the creator is Peter Mehlman, who wrote some of the episodes, and was also involved with Seinfeld. Although it may have been a ploy to create a Seinfeld like show, to cash in on the popularity, I suppose. I can almost see that this is what Jerry and the gang would be like, were they from LA, instead of NY.

That was the point of ILYK - the two main characters were from NY and transplanted in LA. And the show highlighted all the cultural difficulties they had in adapting to LA life through the transformation of Arthur. But of course this was doomed to failure because it was of interest only to the few people with that specific experience. It was "Seinfeld-like" but lacked the genius of Jerry Seinfeld's observational humour and Larry David's classical writing constructs.

Anyone want to buy my set of tapes? Those and Nortel shares are taking up room in my den. :-)

Ooohhh..I get it now! I was wondering what the title was all about. Actually, I think that may be part of the reason the show didn't catch on. The name is a little awkward to say, especially in a conversation.
