Fans discuss what George's mysterious assignment was in "The Bottle Deposit" episode, with one proposing he needed to create baseball salary graphs at Kinko's.
After watching last night's rerun (August 4th) I am curious if anyone can venture a guess as to what George's assignment was. It is not explained in the episode, and that is of course part of the humor. I do not remember the name of the show, but it is the one with Jerry's car stolen, the golf clubs, and the wacky trip to Michigan to recycle bottles (Kramer and Newman.) Any ideas on the assignment would be great.

fyi, it's called "The Bottle Deposit" and was originally aired as a one hr special, but now it's in 2 1/2 hr parts.
That one just shatters me. Newman has a fanatical obsession to drive an amazing distance to cash in the bottles, and Kramer is even more fanatical that it can't be done.
This is just an idea, but i got to thinking that maybe the assignment was to make a graph or spreadsheet presentation of the baseball players salaries. And the place that's downtown and open 24 hours? KINKO'S!, where George could copy and laminate the graphs.... OR MAYBE I'VE BEEN WATCHING A BIT TOO MUCH SEINFELD.. YOU MAKE THE CALL.

That is a pretty good guess. After all, George was standing outside of the bathroom for just about a minute, so it couldn't have been too detailed an assignment. It would have to be something somewhat related to George's position in the Yankee Family Team. Since he works in travel, maybe it was something to do with pairing up the team members so as to cause the least personnel friction and damage to hotel rooms while on the road? Maybe idears to save money on road trips as well, or ways to boost team morale on away games.
