5/7/98 episode - Poseidon Adventure parody?

Was Elaine's trek under the bleachers with the group of stranded people an homage to the last 30 minutes of 'The Poseidon Adventure'?

That and a lot of movies just like it but I guess its the most famous one. Just like all new episodes I find a lot to laugh about but I felt that even though there was a lot going on that there was a weird relax feel to the whole show. Like most episodes i'm guessing it will get better after repeated viewings. I also thought that they really played the "gay" angle with the Cedric and Bob (?) incident as opposed to the other two times we got to see them. Not that there"s any... Well you Know. Do they recognize Kramer at all ?
