Well, this was certainly the most satisfying episode of the season for me. It was pretty solid and had some of the charm that has made the previous seasons so good. Since I'm a negative kinda guy I'll start off with what I didn't like and then say what I did like.
- Basic Instinct homage: I appreciate what they were trying to do here but I don't think it was done very well. It was cute but it dragged.
- Elaine's subplot: This ventured into the over-the-top zone which I think has been the most disappointing thing about the new season. It was funny enough that it didn't drag the show down though and Kramer's turn as Martin Van Nostrum, the doctor from Belgium, was a nice touch. Uncle Leo with painted on eyebrows was a hoot too.
- Reference to "The Pick": I've said it before, the references to past episodes are blatant. The whole conversation between George and Elaine in the taxi re: the nipple picture wasn't written well at all but I did like the curious look George gave Elaine.
I did like:
- George's photo shoot: Well, I didn't *like* it but it was damn funny! I loved how Kramer brought out George's "wild side".
- The pay-off scene: The pictures of George and the photo shop guy side by side will be a memorable scene I think.
- Kramer's insistence that he get a refund for Jerry's stereo and then his defense of the mail scam with something like "But the warranty ran out!" was a classic wishy washy Kramer scam.
Bonus: my ordering of this years episodes so far:
1 -- The Package (is this the correct title?) 2 -- The Foundation (loved Kramer's karate subplot) 3 -- The Bizarro Jerry (best viewed as a fantasy episode) 4 -- 2nd show, with Pam (kinda flat but not too bad) 5 -- The Little Kicks (Jerry's bootlegging storyline was ok)
