I have a slight problem with some of the characters being such caricatures, most notably the Costanzas, Estelle and what's his face. It's just too much. Also, in an earlier post someone had beef with Jerry's chuckling at the jokes on the show. I sort of like the fact that there is some acknowledgement of the fact that this is some funny stuff. Dave

Actually I think you've hit on one of the strengths of Seinfeld. The "outrageous" characters are nevertheless original. For contrast, consider the talent agent from the "Friends" episode which also aired Thursday night (1/2). She was an example of weaker writers attempting to create a funny "outrageous" character who is, in fact, a tiresome annoyance.
