Doesn't make sense to me either. Somebody thought it rhymed with clitoris.

That is exactly what they meant, and it does rhyme :)

Delores and clitoris don't rhyme. Look up clitoris in the dictionary and you'll see that the accent is on the first syllable. It's CLIT-a-ris, NOT clit-TOR-is, which Jerry apparently thought.

Well, according to Webster's, either pronunciation is correct. The second is the more common, but either is acceptable.

But CL*TOR*S does rhyme with D*LOR*S!!!

But only if you pronounce "clitoris" incorrectly.
