At the risk of *outing* myself as a Home Improvement viewer...
Last night's (24-2-93) episode of HI had a scene where Tim and his neighbor were discussing violence and pacifism, and Tim made some crack about Ghandi (intentional mispelling - settle down...) getting beat up by his classmates. I'm not sure exactly how the scene went because I was playing with the kids while we watched, but I thought it was a funny coincidence.
In defense of HI, I think it's a relatively funny show - definitely not as good as Seinfeld - but what else on TV is? I think HI is in a different category than Seinfeld. I watch HI with my kids - I get a few chuckles out of it, and the kids like it too. When both shows were in the same time slot, we would watch HI and tape Jerry. Later, when the kids were asleep, my wife and I would savor the Seinfeld episode like a fine wine.
One of my favorite parts of HI (although it doesn't have much to do with the plot), is the use of special effect graphics between scenes, and when they go to commercial. The effects are fresh, clever, and still unique in the industry.
Finally, in response to the person that tuned in to see the episode where Tim wouldn't ask for directions, I thought that that particular episode was by far the worst of the season - give it another try.
