Jerry and Porsches

I know Jery is a Porsche fanatic, but there didn't seem to be much of any indication on the show other than maybe some obscure 911 poster I think I saw.

Were there any others on the show? references to or anything?

Plus Jerry is a stand-up comedian in the show. Do you really think he could afford a Porsche?

If you watch the A&E Biography on Jerry the next time it airs you'll see reference to the fact that he was making very good money working as a stand up comedian, prior to the sitcom going on the air. So yes it's reasonable to assume TV Jerry could have afforded a Porsche.

I think Jerry's level of fame and fortune are not exactly set in stone in the show. It seems they just make him as rich and famous as they need to be to fit the plot. i.e. He makes appearances on David Letterman, yet he can't even get a table in a Chinese restaurant. Someone in Jersey wants to buy his old sneakers as celebrity memorabilia, yet no one ever recognizes him on the street or in a crummy little coffee shop. etc......

He did own a nice BMW which he tossed because of the odor problem. He had atleast one nice Saab.

But I do agree that to keep the show in some sort of perspective with Jerry being not such a celebrity.

Saab had a much bigger presence. Perhaps Porsche would not come up with any product endorsement money.

Yes, he had a poster on his back wall of an airborne '89 Carrera- the one that Car & Driver subscribers got as a promo. I have the same one.

Check out last month's Automobile Magazine- Jerry contributed an article on his exprience test driving the new high end Porsche.
