Fans debate whether Jerry Seinfeld's magazine covers around the time of The Dealership episode represent excessive media promotion or are justified by his status as television's highest-paid star.

Yes, Seinfeld had some good moments but come on! The cover of major magazines??

Only the ones owned by Time-Warner -- also the owners of the series. Coincidence, I'm sure.

TW doesn't own the series. Columbia does (they, AFAIK, own Castle Rock.)

According to NBC.com, " 'Seinfeld' is a West/Shapiro Production in association with Castle Rock Entertainment."

According to Castle Rock's corporate logo, it is a Time-Warner company.

Columbia (Sony) apparently controls the syndication, but TW is the big winner from "Seinfeld" (as well as we fans, of course, and Jerry himself).

So I stand by my original post about the unseemliness of TW mags promoting the show they own and from which they profit.

I hate to bring this up, but didn't Tim Allen recently sign a larger contract (more money than Jerry) for Home Improvement?

Actually, he did. But, I believe it is for next season. Still, it is for $1.3 million per episode whereas Jerry was offered much more than that if he continued. But, since he is leaving this season, Tim Allen will take his title as highest paid.
